Angry Birds to launch on Windows Phone 7 soon

The popular and addictive game Angry Birds seem to fly in Windows 7 Phone handsets soon, as well as in 3D.

Rovio has the uber-cool game called Angry Birds have been creating big waves across many mobile platforms since its launch in December 2009.

Rovio Mobile, which is behind the Angry Birds, has already launched the iPhone, iPad and Android devices, with Angry Birds 2 in the works already.

The company lately disclosed that it will release Angry Birds for Windows 7 Phone users who have missed the action.

What's more, it seems a 3D version of the game to be in the pipeline too.

When asked about Angry Birds would be available on the Windows 7 Phone, he said that they worked with it, and hinted at the launch being held up because of Microsoft.

When the Pocket-lint asked Peter Vesterbacka about the impending launch of this game on Windows 7 Phone, the company claimed to be working on the game.

All Vesterbacka said was, Let's just say, Microsoft has a lot of lawyers.

It comes across as no surprise that the game is headed for yet another mobile platform, considering his success and the fact that it is headed for a Hollywood debut as an animated film.

As of now we are in the dark about the release date and price for Angry Birds of WP7 devices.

However, it may be recalled that there was any bad blood between these two companies previously.

Those who use Android devices can get it free (with advertising).

But the North Backa from the Rovio seems to think the past should be left behind, thus Angry Birds of the platform.

He also confirmed Angry Birds in 3D format, but has not uncovered anything else, for example, when we could get the 3D version and the device will be launched.

Apart from the Windows 7 Phone launch, a 3D version of the game has also been confirmed.

But as we know, Angry Birds confirmed for Nintendo 3DS release, so it's definitely one of the platforms we should have the game.

There is no official confirmation associated with a release date for either the Windows version 7 Phone or 3D installation of Angry Birds. You can jump to the end and leave a response. Pinging is currently not allowed.

Microsoft Teases New Features in Windows Phone 7 Software Update

By Mat Smith on Thursday, February 3 2011It comes up to a month since Microsoft first trumpeted a free update to its Windows 7 Phone handsets. Now they have revealed on their U.S. site what this update will do, and that's basically what they told us in January. Copy and paste comes over the phone, which means we will not have to carefully remember phone numbers, e-mail addresses or physical addresses anymore. You will then be able to transplant this info into Office documents, e-mail and the rest. Good stuff, but then we still want to find addresses that our American cousinsThe WP7 update will give users both the loading speed and performance increases to their range of applications and games. Their app and music store, market place, will also be re-jigged so that you can then search for programs exclusively, to avoid confusing the search results with songs and albums mixed in. That's about it.

If you're expecting an update to WinPho7, it is best to cheque that your phone is set up to take hold of it.
Finally, the next software update promises a tweaked search function in Windows Phone Marketplace: when searching for apps and games, you will not now face a barrage of music performance as well.
Find Phone update page, which is under settings so make sure you have checked the box that says Notify me when new updates are found.
Color us a bit underwhelmed.
Microsoft says, however, this is a look at some of what's ahead, so hopefully there is more to the first Windows 7 Phone update than the features above.
The company has not announced a date for the update, or has it shed any light on whether each WP7 user will get it at the same time.
Android users often complain about the lag between Google launches new version of its OS, and their carrier and / or phone maker actually makes it possible.
Here's hoping Microsoft has learnt from it.
Finally, the company has not mentioned bug fixes, but we assume that the now infamous \phantom data \leakage problem will be squeezed in the update as well.

Nokia told to ditch MeeGo in favour of Windows Phone 7 - PCR

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop has been advised to drop MeeGo in favor of Windows Phone 7.In an open letter to Elop, Adnaan Ahmad investors Bere Bank Berg wrote: Get rid of your own proprietary high-end solution MeeGo - it's the biggest joke in tech industry right now and will put you further behind Apple and Google.
Nokia is facing increasing pressure to dump their existing mobile operating systems in favor of Microsoft's Windows 7 Phone, a move that could keep the company relevant in the market for smart phones.
Nokia has focused on developing their own operating systems, Symbian and MeeGo while competing vendors such as Samsung and LG have started using Google's Android.
According to a report from PC Pro, a number of influential analysts are piling pressure on Nokia, encourage flagging manufacturer to drop both Symbian and not yet released MeeGo OS in favor of a Microsoft link up.
This follows Monday's news that Android had passed Symbian to become the world's most popular mobile OS in Q4 2010.The sales difference was relatively slim - Nokia still sold 31 million Symbian phones, 1.9 million less than Android - but Nokia lacks a presence in West, where Apple and Android handsets are preferred.
Adnaan Ahmad of Berenice Berg Bank - the oldest private bank in Germany - have urged Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, do the following: Get rid of your own proprietary high-end solution (MeeGo) - it's the biggest joke in the tech industry right now and will put you further behind Apple and Google.
Article continues belowAdvertisementInteractive IdeasWP7 has received rave reviews, but lacks support from vendors, who choose for Android is open-source benefits.
Ahmad argues that a transition to Windows 7 Phone would benefit both Microsoft and Nokia, but the platform is currently struggling to compete with the two big names.
The numbers support this view - WP7 only accounted for 5 percent of the handset market last Christmas.
Ahmad advice was repeated by Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair, who said the switch to Windows 7 Phone would address the key concerns we have about Nokia in recent years: terrible software.
Nokia is still the world's most popular smart phone manufacturer, have a market share of 28 percent last quarter, saw a potential deal could be a match made in heaven.
Au.
Ahmad seems to believe it: Two million units sold in the last fourth is not really much to write home about, given $ 500 million in marketing programs, but with Nokia on the page, you will have access to a potential 20-25 percent global share of time - and exclusivity.
