Windows Phone Marketplace shut to users

Disgruntled users have been locked out of Windows Phone Marketplace for perhaps as long as twenty hours, but Microsoft has not been able to adequately explain why.
Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) reopened its Windows Phone Market Place on Thursday evening after technical problems left some users can not download and update mobile applications.
In a blog mail Microsoft responded to user complaints with a simple message, just wanted to tell you that we're investigating reports that some people have problems with downloading programs from the Windows Phone Market Place.
Writing on the Windows Phone Blog, explains Microsoft employee Michael Stroh that some Windows 7 Phone users trying to download apps received error messages reading Can not get this information right now.
The fact that most people try to use it already knew that this was apparently lost on the firm.

For example, one user at The Inquirer towers were shut out for over two hours.
Stroh said that Microsoft identified and fixed the problem within a few hours, blaming the snafu on planned maintenance is performed on Microsoft's infrastructure during the night, adding the company is taking steps to avoid future disruption to the Marketplace Services.
Microsoft added, The root of this problem has been identified and measures are taken to avoid future disruptions in the Marketplace service.
Windows Phone Marketplace lockout is the latest software hiccups affecting Windows 7 Phone platform in recent weeks - in particular, Microsoft delayed the construction of its first major WP7 update in late March because of the challenges in the course of releasing a minor update weeks earlier .
We asked Microsoft for more information about the problem, including rumors of the proposal that it was related to the last update which brought Nodo copy and paste functionality in Windows 7 Phone operating system.
At its annual MIX event last month announced Microsoft will release the next iteration of Windows 7 Phone later this year - code-named Mango, promises the developers update a major overhaul including improved multitasking capabilities, expanded Office document support, and a hardware-accelerated version of Internet Explorer 9 Microsoft has also promised to improve Windows Phone Market Place, introducing a betting shop and expand sales to 35 new international markets. The firm adds Mango launch will coincide with enhanced Marketplace discovery tools and new merchandising opportunities, and expanded billing options. Microsoft has also announced its Bing Maps IOS software development kit (SDK).
In an attempt to compete with Google Maps SDK supports Bings road, aerial and hybrid aerial map styles.
It also has the ability to add push pins to maps and access to the user's position via GPS to find the phone on the map.
