Nokia's First Windows Phone 7 Devices: W7, W8

Earlier this year Nokia announced its decision to make Windows 7 Phone its primary smartphone OS, but made no mention of any plans for upcoming phones WP7
Nokia spent the early part of this week carries on its new Symbian products. But now attention has turned to its upcoming Windows 7 Phone handsets, with Russian mobile operator fanatic Eldar Murtazin get the skinny on the two new units packing ace Microsoft OS. Called Nokia W7 and W8, the two phones based around the recently announced Nokia and Nokia N8 X7 respectively. Of course, the hardware may be similar, the software will be completely different, with WP7 working overtime under the hood. Murtazin said that all Nokia phones WP7 will use Qualcomm chips. The W7, which packs an 8 megapixel camera, will be the first to hit the shelves and will be quickly followed by W8 and a dozen phones rocking Microsoft's mobile operating system in 2012. Nokia has hinted recently that the first WP7 phones would not be out until next year.

Now we have rumors that the first Windows 7 Phone phone out of Espoo will be W7 and W8.According to Russian phone blogs, Eldar Mutazin, Nokia W7 will be based around the company's X7 handsets, and similar to the HTC Mozart

It sports a Qualcomm processor and an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, and is believed to be the first Windows 7 Phone device Nokia will launch

In the meantime, the W8 is a variant of the Finnish's company N8 handset (pictured here), and will have a 12-megapixel camera
.
It will also have a Qualcomm chip inside (exact model TBD), and is supposed to come in Q2 next year

Specifications for the devices are not yet final, and Nokia reportedly has a total of 12 Windows 7 Phone devices planned for 2012 alone, so expect a lot more WP7/Nokia news in the coming months

The company is said to be trying to offer something different than what is already available from competitors, and with a mains that big, we imagine that they would have a little something for everyone
