Leak pre-beta screenshots from an early version of Windows 8 shows that Microsoft can replace the desktop operating system's toolbar with the type of ribbon used in the company's Office applications.
Early versions of Windows 8 has popped up online in recent weeks, with pre-beta code apparently leaked that Microsoft will send it to partners.
The speed and the synchronization of the look of Windows and Microsoft's desktop applications, would also improve the position of Windows for use on tablet devices with touch-screen interface.
Windows watchers Rafael Rivera, Paul Thurrott posted screenshots from based on their blog WithinWindows.
Microsoft has not announced a schedule for releasing the next generation of its desktop Windows operating system - today's Windows 7 was available in October 2009 - but there have been reports Microsoft is shooting for a release date in 2012.
While the pictures are not official, they suggest the direction Microsoft is headed with the Windows UI.
That plan would mean partners and customers in a number of Windows 8 beta releases later this year and into next year.
The band was first introduced with Office 2007, but the images the term be extended to Windows Explorer.
Word leaked screenshots appeared on WithinWindows site over the weekend.
In early versions of Windows 8, this is the Ribbon UI only half finished and, frankly, of dubious value, the pair note.
Microsoft has said that Windows 8 will run on Tablet devices and plans to support the ARM system-on-a-chip microprocessor architecture, as well as x86 microprocessors.

It is unclear whether Microsoft intends to proceed with this interface as it is, or whether it will appear only in certain types of UI.
Microsoft also seems to consider incorporating design elements from the Windows 7 Phone, with the login screen looks similar to the phone lock screen on your mobile OS.

Microsoft is tablets in mind while developing Windows 8, then include aspects of mobile OS will not come as too much of a surprise.
