Nokia to launch Nokia Fire Windows 7 Phone In early 2012 By Sardar Mohkim Khan, 21 April 2011, a CommentsThere has been much debate about the Nokia and Microsoft partnership, especially when Nokia will start the production of Windows 7 Phone devices.
NEW DELHI: There is much speculation about Windows 7 Phone Nokia-based smartphones.
While the exact dates are yet to be announced, revealed Mobile Review that we can expect at least 4 units in the area early 2012.Another Nokia and Microsoft have a challenge is the naming convention of the new phones.
In fact, the leaked specs sheet of the two Nokia Windows 7 Phone based phones doing the rounds online.
It will be difficult for both to modify their existing conventions to please others, but the big Nokia Windows phone devices will be able to carry a W prefix.
According to Mobile Review, Nokia is preparing two Windows 7 Phone models called Nokia W7 and W8.
This will be a link factor for Nokia phones running the Windows operating system.
Nokia X7-inspired W7 will feature a WVGA screen, QSD8250 Qualcomm chipsets, Windows phone OS 7 and 8 megapixel camera.
As per the details made available, Nokia will release the first handset in the beginning of 2012, which will be a modified version of Nokia X7.
The handset is expected to hit the market by 2011 end.
It will have an 8MP camera, a Qualcomm chipset QSD8250 and a WVGA screen.
Nokia W8, similar to the popular Nokia N8, will feature a dual core CPU and Qualcomm Adreno 320 GPU.
It will, as N8 has a 12MP camera, and also has a dual-core Qualcomm processor.
It will sport a 12 megapixel shooter.
From the specifications of the sets are mentioned, it seems that Microsoft and Nokia are both in harmony to continue to focus on camera phones.
W8 is expected to arrive in early 2012.
One interesting thing to bill here is how Nokia is being made to adopt Qualcomm processor to power its devices, the distinction of which mainly goes to Microsoft.
The leaked report also claims that Nokia has moved away from Microsoft's Windows 7 Phone imposed hardware requirements for a more flexible design process where it has more control over design, features, and modification.
There are two, one that will be a touchscreen QWERTY phone and another low-priced model that aims to cater to the lower level of the market for smart phones.
Moreover, the two Windows phone-based phones, Nokia is also preparing two new Symbian-based phones.
While the 4 is just the beginning, Nokia will provide at least a dozen Windows 7 Phone devices.
The quarter will be a cheaper version of W7, and will come with the same hardware specs, but with a cheaper body materials.
It's much more to come from this Nokia / Microsoft handshake for sure.
Let's wait and see how 2012 shapes for both giants and how they can benefit from each others' position.
